💡 About this Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a Platform team that owns the AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes clusters, and security posture powering an organization's AI capabilities. This is foundational work — you'll be building and maintaining the infrastructure that every AI service in the environment depends on, and doing it in a mission space where reliability and security aren't optional.

This role sits at the intersection of hands-on engineering and technical leadership. You'll translate high-level stakeholder goals into concrete platform solutions, define structure in ambiguous problem spaces, and mentor the engineers around you. Mission needs evolve quickly, and so will your work — you'll be expected to keep sharpening your skills and turning loosely defined problems into well-engineered solutions that the team can execute against.

📋 Requirements

  • Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure supporting AI capabilities, with a focus on AWS and Kubernetes
  • Translate high-level stakeholder goals into engineering outcomes and platform solutions
  • Define structured approaches to ambiguous technical problems and drive them to resolution
  • Mentor engineers and establish development best practices, engineering standards, and technical governance
  • Establish and enforce security best practices across infrastructure systems and data, including certificate and identity management
  • Experience with AWS services including EKS, Terraform, IAM, and Route 53
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Helm and/or Kustomize
  • Experience with Docker and containerization
  • Experience with Argo CD and/or other CI/CD frameworks
  • Experience configuring and using observability tooling such as the Elastic Stack (Kibana) and Grafana/Prometheus
  • Experience with certificate management and cloud-native security practices
  • Experience supporting cloud-native architecture and maintaining production software and infrastructure
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
  • Ability to balance hands-on engineering work with leadership and coordination responsibilities
  • 12 years of experience in a relevant technical discipline, or a B.S. in a technical discipline plus 8 years of experience; an additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in place of the B.S.

  • Experience developing technical policies and governance frameworks
  • Experience with AI inference serving technologies such as vLLM or LiteLLM
  • Prior experience working with agentic frameworks
  • Knowledge of vector databases and embedding systems
  • Familiarity with large language models and AI hosting concepts

💰 Salary Range

$282,000 – $332,000

This range includes our flex income and depends upon your annual work hours.

Salary is determined on an individual basis following the interview process and considering various factors such as years of experience, skills, education, and certifications.
